Hewoconnect ("Hewoconnect", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website hewoconnect.com (the "Site") and is building a verified network of independent skilled freelancers across India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have regarding your data.

By using the Site, including joining our Early Access waitlist, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you join the Early Access waitlist, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• Mobile number
• Profession
• State and district

We also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser and device information, and general usage data (such as which pages you view), for security, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes.

If you later apply for verified membership, we will collect additional information required for manual verification, such as your professional portfolio, work samples, experience details, and payment information for the annual membership fee. This will be covered in a dedicated application privacy notice at the time applications open.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Notify you when Early Access applications officially open in your profession and district
• Communicate with you about your waitlist status, membership, and account
• Verify applicant identity, experience, and eligibility during our manual review process
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our verification process
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you. All membership approvals are manually reviewed by our team.

3. Marketing and Business Enquiries

Hewoconnect runs its own lead-generation campaigns across digital and social media platforms (including Meta) to attract businesses. Verified members may receive business enquiries generated through these campaigns, delivered to their member dashboard once the platform is live. Contact details of waitlist applicants are not sold or shared with third-party advertisers.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Site, send emails, and process payments, under confidentiality obligations
• Legal and regulatory authorities, where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public
• Successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to equivalent privacy protections

5. Data Retention

We retain waitlist and membership data for as long as your account or application is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time as described in Section 7.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your data, including withdrawal from the Early Access waitlist
